History of Database Management System
Talking Nets: An Oral History of Neural Networks by Jack A. Anderson, Since World War II, a group of scientists has been attempting to understand the human nervous system and to build computer systems that emulate the brain's abilities. In this collection of interviews, those who helped to shape the field share their childhood memories, their influences, how they became interested in neural networks, and how they envision its future. Prominent in these recollections are Norbert Wiener, Warren McCulloch, Frank Rosenblatt, and other mythic figures responsible for laying the foundations of modern brain theory and cybernetics. The interviewees agree about some things and disagree about more. Together, they tell the story of how science is actually done, including the false starts and the struggle for jobs, resources, and reputation. Although some of the interviews contain technical material, there is no actual mathematics in the book.
The Neural Simulation Language: A System for Brain Modeling by Alfredo Weitzenfeld, The Neural Simulation Language (NSL), developed by Alfredo Weitzenfeld, Michael Arbib, and Amanda Alexander, provides a simulation environment for modular brain modeling. NSL is an object-oriented language offering object-oriented protocols applicable to all levels of neural simulation. One of NSL's main strengths is that it allows for realistic modeling of the anatomy of macroscopic brain structures. The book is divided into two parts. The first part presents an overview of neural network and schema modeling, a brief history of NSL, and a detailed discussion of the new version, NSL 3.0. It includes tutorials on several basic schema and neural network models. The second part presents models built in NSL by researchers from around the world, including those for conditional learning, face recognition, associative search networks, and visuomotor coordination. Each chapter provides an explanation of a model, an overview of the NSL 3.0 code, and a representative set of simulation results.
Database log - In in the field of databases in computer science, a database log is a history of actions executed by a database management system. Physically, a log is a file of records stored in stable storage, designed to withstand crashes. Relational database management system - A relational database management system (RDBMS) is a database management system (DBMS) that is based on the relational model as introduced by Edgar F. Codd. Distributed database management system - According to Elmasri and Navathe (2004, p.43), a Distributed Database Management System (DDBMS) "can have the actual database and DBMS software distributed over many sites, connected by a computer network". Database management system - A database management system (DBMS) is a computer program (or more typically, a suite of them) designed to manage a database (a large set of structured data), and run operations on the data requested by numerous clients. Typical examples of DBMS use include accounting, human resources and customer support systems.

Alphora's Dataphor is a commercially-available RDBMS that follows all of Codd's rules, and is considered a relational DBMS by both groups.
